Thank a Teacher Day!
Today I worked with the key worker children and collected a few things they appreciated about each of our teachers, it makes for a really lovely list:
Mr. King - A brilliant storyteller (who does excellent voices/accents), he is very intelligent and caring. Works really hard and is a great leader and headteacher.
Mrs. Powell - Formidable (in a good way!), protective, caring, very smart and always wants the best for her class.
Miss. Clark - An amazing singer and musician, always a creative spirit who is helpful and very smart.
Mr. Ind - Playful and energetic, he plays football with us, he is kind and funny although a bit messy!
Mrs. Howe- Always helpful and friendly, she always wears good clothes and has a forgiving nature. She is also a brilliant actress!
Miss. Moss-Silverson - Very, very, very kind and lovely, with nice hair. She is so fun and arty.
Miss. Gordon - Another good singer, who is happy and always smiley. She is smart and always makes our lessons fun.
Miss. Dore - She is very sporty and competitive, we love her energy and sense of fun. She is always super kind and really hard-working.
Miss. Hall - She is so funny. She is caring, pretty and glamorous! Miss Hall is always happy and cheerful and brightens up the day.
Mrs. Jesse and Mrs. Morris - We love all the lessons and opportunities they provide for us. They are thoughtful, caring and always creative.
Mrs. Tappenden - She is calm, kind and always understanding. You can always chat to Mrs. Tappenden and feel like she has listened.

Yesterday the teachers had a meeting on zoom and it all got very musical… or not… as the case may be! We are all missing seeing you every day but hope that you enjoy seeing us in this video : )
Fantastic Football
Today our football team went to The Weald to play a tournament against other schools within the locality. The team demonstrated great football skills as well as fantastic communication and team work. They won their first game against Rudgwick 1-0 and moved straight on to their second game against Billingshurst which they also won 1-0. After a two game break they were back on the pitch playing against Barns Green, beating them 3-0. Next they played Slinfold, again beating them 3-0. Our last game was against Wisborough Green which ended in a 4-0 win to Plaistow and Kirdford. A huge well done to all the players for winning the tournament - we are very proud of you.
Tremendous Team Work!
Our netball team had their first opportunity to play a full netball match (4 quarters of 10 minutes each) this week when only 2 teams were available to play in the tournament at Collyers. It was all to play for at the start with Plaistow and Kirdford lying in 3rd position in the league, just behind our opposition, Heronway, who were in second. A win for our team would mean finishing this set of matches in a fantastic 2nd position behind Southwater. It was a very competitive match and a really fantastic learning opportunity for our children. Everyone played at their very best and the children sitting off in the rotations were amazing support, cheering our side on. We won the first quarter 6-3 and then just one the second quarter 1-0. Heronway made a comeback in the 3rd quarter, winning it 6-4. There was just one goal in it going into the final quarter and Heronway went ahead, scoring twice early on. Our amazing team dug deep putting in some amazing play and came back to score another 7 goals. The match finished 17-12 to Plaistow and Kirdford, meaning that our team finished a very worthy second overall. Well done to all our team, Mrs Parsons is extremely proud of you all.
Netball Tournament -12th February 2020
Our Netball team competed in 2 highly competitive matches at Collyers in Horsham yesterday evening. The whole team played really well, securing one win and a loss. It was great to see such fantastic teamwork.
Super Science
This half term Super Medics ran their new 5 week afterschool club – ‘Super Science’. The children learnt about the human body and how it works by completing practical experiments, while having lots of fun. Subjects included the heart, brain, stomach, lungs and bones. Each child receives a t-shirt, heart squishy and certificate on completion of the course (not to mention their scientific creations from the lab). Places for next term’s club (starting on Wednesday 26th February) can be booked via https://impulsefirstaid.com/i/super-medics-super-science-after-school-club-feb-mar-2020/ Many thanks, Hannah Alsbury-Morris (aka Dr Curlyhair)
