Environmental Area

Our Environmental Area is a large enclosed working garden where children have the opportunity to grow and look after plants. Underpinning key elements of our science curriculum, each class has access to its own vegetable plot which they tend to throughout the year.

Along with the vegetable plots, we have recently installed a brand new pond and decking area (now home to lots of Great Crested Newts and other wildlife!) this area is often used for pond dipping and science work. Every year we watch the bluetits build a nest in our birdbox and enjoy the excitement of watching them hatch. In 2017, 11 fledglings successfully flew!

Our Gardening Club makes the environmental area its base and makes good use of our greenhouse during the colder months.
