Feathered Friends

At our School Council children voted that in addition to looking after our chickens, they would also like the opportunity to learn about and look after other animals. To support them in this, we allocated an area of our school grounds to husbandry.

We regularly have pigs at school which each class takes turn to look after. Children understand that they are not pets but farm animals and when they reach maturity the money made from their sale is used to support our Forest School’s curriculum.
