This week, Hedgehogs have been introduced to multiplication and have loved it! We have got really good at counting in two, five and tens but Year Two has now explored why we are counting in these jumps by adding the multiplication number sentences that go along with these numbers. It feels like it has all come together. On Monday, Hedgehogs used resources to make equal groups and then added the multiplication number sentence to match. There has been lots of discussion about ‘lots of’ and ‘multiplied by’. For example, there are 3 lots of 5 and that is 15 or 2 multiplied by 10 is 20. They all have worked really hard in maths this week and I think we will know our two, five and ten times tables off by heart soon! Well done Hedgehogs!
