COP 26
We had a great day on Wednesday learning about ways that we could reduce waste and help our planet. We took part in lots of activities outside and thought carefully about what we could do individually to help make a difference. In class, we created great pages all about the problems the environment has and what we can do to fix it.
Alchemy Island
This week we have received some mysterious letters from the chief alchemist of Alchemy Island. On Thursday, he sent us some samples from the island and asked us to investigate them and see what part of the island they were from. We tested them to see if they were magnetic, if they conducted electricity and if they were transparent. Fox Class were really good at investigating and deducing what part of the island the samples were from.
Egyptian Tomb
This week we were set the challenge of creating a tomb and getting a pharaoh ready for the afterlife. We were split into teams and had to work together to create a sarcophagus, canopic jars and amulets that the pharaoh might need. We then took them to the tomb and described what we had made and how it would help the pharaoh.
Painted pots
This week we had a lot of fun painting our pots that we made last week. We looked at the colours that the Egyptian pots had used and tried to recreate them!

Egyptian Pottery
Today in our class we looked at some pictures of Ancient Egyptian pottery. Then we had a go at recreating our own out of clay. We are looking forward to painting them when they are dry.

Roman Numeral Treasure Hunt
Year 5 had lots of fun searching the playground for Roman numerals. Once they had found a card they had to write down the Roman numeral and letter. After they had found them all there was a code to break. Well done all of Fox Class for figuring out the hidden message.

Birthday Celebration
Today Year 5 had a great time celebrating the birthdays of people who were born in September, October and November. We played games, ate our birthday snack and had a little dance.
Perfect pottery
This week, we had a go at making our own coil pots. We learnt how to stick the clay together and make the sides smooth.
BANG!
This week Fox class had their 2nd week of drumming sessions. We start by doing some warm ups and then play some drumming games. This week we started learning a drumming song called The Breakfast Bap Rap!
Amazing Adverts
Last week, Fox Class worked really hard to make some amazing adverts to entice people to come to their theme parks. They thought about who their audience might be and what might make them want to come.
Here are a selection of the great adverts that the children created!
Designer Foxes
This week Fox class have been zooming into their learning by designing our own roller coaster carts. We had to think about different safety features as well as what materials might be best to make them.
