This morning Mr King and Mrs Powell welcomed our children into school for the last day of term as they usually do. However, their choice of clothing was a little different. We would like to wish all our families and the wider community a very Happy and safe Christmas and our best wishes for 2021.
Covid Secure Class Parties - Plaistow and Kirdford Style
The party season is upon us and at Plaistow and Kirdford Primary school, our traditional Christmas parties are still going ahead, just a little differently this year. Our classes are all having their own class party in the fabulous marquee. Another massive thank you to Meg Sheehan and Petworth Marquees. They have now added a magnificent starry night ceiling, dance floor and glitter ball to make our parties even more festive.

It's beginning to feel like Christmas
Our Christmas tree is now up for all our children to enjoy.
Badgers After School Club - Christmas Crafting
The children attending Badgers After School Club this week enjoyed some festive crafting activities. Ho Ho Ho, not long now!
Thank you to Petworth Marquees
A massive thank you to Petworth Marquees who have very kindly lent us one of their lovely marquees which has enabled us to have an additional ‘indoor’ space. We are enormously grateful.
New Office Friends!
We have 3 new friends who have joined us in the school office. We are teaching them how to be really good at social distancing! Bertie, Bella and Bobby are settling in really well!
The Amazing Adventures of Superstan
The long-awaited audio version of the KS2 summer production, The Amazing Adventures of Superstan, is now available to listen to. The Year 6 children have worked really hard at trying to convey the characters with their voices so that the essence of the story is not lost in any way.
I have to say, back in April/May, I really despaired that we were never going to be able to give the children the opportunity to rehearse for their play. They have made me enormously proud in terms of their hard work and commitment to this huge team effort. One person, however, who has made all this possible is undoubtedly our very own Miss Clark. She has worked tirelessly since we have been back in school. researching the best sorts of microphones to use outdoors (given that we were only permitted to make the recordings outside and so had to battle with wind, church bells and all the usual sounds emitting from a primary school!), calmly helping me with the music when I have just stared at various pieces of equipment with a 'What do I do next?' look on my face, as well as putting all the various audio clips together to make an enormously impressive recording, despite all the obstacles placed in our way. We know it is not perfect, but I truly believe it is a fantastic achievement in the current circumstances, and hopefully the children feel they have had the opportunity to take part in a production of sorts. A big well done to Year 6 from me and a huge thank you from us all to Miss C!

A version of this morning’s assembly…
Well, hopefully third time is the charm! Here is a re-record of this morning’s assembly. Hopefully everyone will be able to see this one! Have a good weekend!

Poppy Pickle
A story that was shared with Robins before half term (hence the intro!) but time for the rest of the school to enjoy too. This story is all about a little girled called Poppy and her HUGE imagination. Poppy even imagines my favourite animal - see if you can spot it? I know ALL the children at Plaistow and Kirdford have great imagination just like Poppy in the story so enjoy…
A final sneak peak around school before we open.
In this video we do a whistle stop tour around school. We have a sneaky peak at our other Reception, Year One and Year Six classrooms as well as our school hall and Key a Worker children’s space.

A short(ish) video about coming in to school next week
Hello everyone, today Miss Dore and I finished putting the social distancing markers around outside the school building. Here is a video that shows how they work, where they go and some little extra bits of information. Apologies for the quality - it turns out neither of us are particularly adept at using a selfie-stick!
We will be putting new videos during the course of the week.
A bedtime story with Miss Dore!
The Tiger who Came to Tea
